This Is A Book!
When pointing to a masculine object that is close to us in Arabic, we use هَٰذَا.
For example,
"This is a book." — هَذَا كِتَابٌ
"This is a pen." — هَذَا قَلَمٌ
"This is a house." — هَذَا بَيْتٌ
"This is a warner." — هَذَا نَذِيرٌ
Tip
Tip: As you might have noticed, Arabic doesn't explicitly have a concept equivalent to the English "is". So, a literal word for word translation of هَذَا كِتَابٌ would be "This a book". However, the word "is" is inherently assumed.
